At the beginning of January 2020, Fr. Joseph Lê Minh Thông returns to Vietnam after 5 years spent at the École biblique as a New Testament teacher. Most of his courses have focused on the Gospel of John, to which he has recently dedicated a work in French: Qui est « le disciple que Jésus aimait » ?, Cerf, 2018, 160 p. Joseph has also published extensively in Vietnamese and maintains a very lively blog. He also contributes to the online Dominican University, DOMUNI.
He will return to his country, to his family and friends, but he will also have an intense teaching post at the Dominican Center of Studies in Ho Chi Minh City, a Dominican studium affiliated with the University Santo Tomas in Manila (Philippines) which empowers him to award university degrees. It will have 280 students, 75 of whom will be Dominican friars.
We will miss Fr. Joseph but we appreciate his desire to be at the service of the Church in his country which is full of vocations and has a great need for qualified formators.
Thank you, Fr. Joseph, for your smiling presence among us.
